I am very excited to have a post by my friend Linda about South Africa and more specifically Klaserie River Safari Lodge! Linda and her husband have recently purchased the Lodge and she tells us how it came about.
KLASERIE RIVER SAFARI LODGE
- My friends call me the bush baby because I love visiting game reserves, whether its a camping trip, time-share or extended holiday.
- Last August we went on a camping trip to Marakele National Park and my sister brought along a copy of the Winter edition of Go Platteland magazine. I picked it up and started reading some of the very interesting articles. One is particular grabbed my attention – an article on Hoedspruit. I casually said to my husband,”That sounds like a nice place to live.” Little did I know that it was the start of turning our dream into a reality.
- Eight weeks later, my hubby and set off to take a look at Hoedspruit and discover all it had to offer. On the third day of looking at properties for sale we found our dream game farm/lodge. The next day we made an offer which was accepted then and there, and we are now the proud owners of this special place!
- We left Hoedspruit that day elated and full of plans for our future in the African bush, which up until now had just been a dream. Its all happened so fast – 16 weeks from reading the article to taking occupation of this special place. We now get to live our dream and hopefully find peace, solitude and contentment in the South African bush we both love so much.
There is so much to see and do in our amazing country –
these are just a taster of the experiences you can have at our lodge
